Obi Worldphone Coming To The Philippines Soon!

According to a recent report by trusted PH based technology website, there will be a new smartphone brand to arrive in our country. It's the Obi Worldphone which is managed by the ex Apple CEO, John Sculley. First they will bring here two new affordable smartphones, the SF1 and SJ1.5.

The Obi Worldphone SF1 is a midrange smartphone that comes with 5 inch FHD screen, fiberglass unibody frame, 1.5 GHz 64 bit Snapdragon 615 octa core processor, 2 / 3 GB of RAM, 16 / 32 GB of expandable internal storage, 3,000 mAh of battery and LTE connectivity. It also has a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP selfie cam with flash.

The SJ1.5

Next is the Obi Worldphone SJ1.5, which is a lower end model that comes with a 5 Inch HD screen, polycarbonate body, 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB expandable internal storage, 8 MP rear camera w/ LED flash powered by an Omnivision sensor, 5 MP selfie camera and 3,000 mAh of battery.

Both models comes with a custom Lifespeed UI in Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS for the SF1 and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the SJ1.5. The SF1 is priced at USD 199 (2 GB RAM / 16 GB ROM) and USD 299 (3 GB RAM / 32 GB ROM) model. The SJ1.5 is priced at USD 129. Given those pricings, the Obi Worldphones that will be available here comes with competitive prices even against the local branded phones. They'll arrive here by December according to the company.

Both handsets are priced internationally at $199 and $299 for the SF1’s 2GB/3GB variant, respectively, with the SJ1.5 asking for $129. Although, according to the company, they will be available here in the Philippines before December 2015 for under Php10K.
