Vivo Showcases Multiple Industry-Leading Tech At MWC 2017 Shanghai

Mobile World Congress Shanghai has attracted several leading smartphone manufacturers to showcases their latest and greatest, Vivo Mobile is one of them. The company has showcased multiple industry leading tech like Under Display Fingerprint Scanning Solutions, Digital Signal Processing Photography Solution and HiFi solutions.

This means that in the near future, we can expect a full implementation of Under Display Fingerprint Scanning Solution for the mass market! This is unprecedented because the fingerprint sensor can now be more subtly placed under the display, therefore take up less space.

According to Vivo Engineers, this solution was possible because of Qualcomm based Fingerprint sensor. The ultrasound produced by the sensor can penetrate an OLED display that is 1.2mm thick to recognize the user's fingerprint. In the future, this will be important for true full-screen display designs that is integrated with an unibody. This means vast improvements in waterproofing and anti-ambient light applications.

Independent DSP Photography Solution seeks to improve backlighting and night scene smartphone photography with a design that helps users to take better pictures with accurate exposure and adjust brightness to correspond better with what the human eye sees. 

In theory, this will allow smartphones to finally take multiple RAW images quickly when shooting in complicated lighting situations. This DSP chip will process and compose automatically a single RAW picture which is then processed into JPG format by ISP.

This, coupled with its higher processing speed, DSP aims to reduce shot noise for night scenes to a great extent and improve the beautification effects of Vivo's own Face beauty mode!

HiFi audio has reached new levels because of Vivo's new customized DAC decoder chip and headphone amplifier technology. As a pioneer of High Fidelity smartphones, Vivo has now showcased a solution that focuses on perfecting details by using a customized DAC decoding chip coupled with a customized headphone amplifier that improves SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), Dynamic range, distortion and output power! This surpasses their previous solution the Xplay 6.
