Apparently, Google's Android One still exists. Sharp Corporation has just launched the Japan exclusive Sharp X1 smartphone with said Android One platform.

The Sharp X1 is an entry-midrange handset on paper. It boasts a large enough 5.3 inch FHD IGZO LCD touchscreen display, Qualcomm's 64 bit Snapdragon 435 octa core processor, Adreno 505 graphics, just enough 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, and pretty large 3,900 mAh of battery capacity.

It also has a 16.4 MP main camera w/ LED flash, 8 MP wide angle selfie camera, USB Type C support, FeliCa RFID smart card system ready, water and dust resistance, and fingerprint scanner.

The handsets boots with Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Like all Android One devices, let's expect this to have speedy software updates for up to 2 years.

It is available in white, dark purple, and mint green from Japanese carrier Y! mobile.
