You heard that right, folks! The new ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 processor. That's a desktop computer processor and not a mobile version. You are getting 8 cores with 16 threads with a maximum clock speed of 3.7 GHz. It will also feature the new Zen microarchitecture with simultaneous multi threading to optimize performance and power consumption.

The Ryzen 7 also include SenseMI that learns from your quirks and habits. It will understand how you use the CPU's power and adapt seamlessly from different workloads.

It is going to be partnered with the RX580 GPU that has 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM that will be able to give you the sharpest and most beautiful graphics for games and multimedia creation and consumption.

The 17 inch wide view IPS display is just astonishing to look at in person. Trust me, I played Tekken 7 there and it was so buttery smooth. That is thanks to their FreeSync technology that eliminates visual tearing and minimize any lag or FPS drops when gaming. It can have either 75 Hz or 120 Hz of refresh rate so you can easily see all movements and action on screen during gameplay. You can also connect it to an external monitor via HDMI or Display Port.

The GL702ZC is also VR ready with Radeon GPU boost that allows for smooth and low latency VR experience. All of these can be monitored on ASUS very own software called ROG Gaming Center. Here you can monitor clock speeds, thermals and CPU and GPU usage. In addition to that you can also access applications such as ROG Game First IV, XPlit GameCaster and Spendid.

The keyboard is also durable and reliable. It features a specially made WASD keys specifically made for gamers. It also has badass looking red back lighting that goes well with the laptop's whole theme. It has 1.6mm of travel distance that makes it feel tactile and satisfying to press. The anti-ghosting feature it has provides you with accurate keyboard presses even if you press 30 keys at once.

In terms of cooling, the Strix GL702ZC has a Hyper Cool Duo-Copper cooling system that uses state-of-the-art heat pipes and an efficient dual fan system. This cools the CPU and GPU independently so you are sure to get optimized thermals whether you use it casually or during hardcore gaming.

You can also fit up to 32 GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM. This kind of RAM is the latest in terms of power consumption and speeds.

When it comes to storage, you can load it up with an SSD for faster boot up and load times for games. You can also take advantage of the SATA 2.5 inch drive bay that can handle up to 2 TB of HDD storage.

The audio department is not too shabby as well. It features Sonic Studio and Sonic Radar. Sonic Studio helps you gain high quality audio in-game and even for media consumption. It also helps you record your voice easily with great voice recognition and noise reduction. Sonic Radar helps you immerse yourself into the game by having an on-screen overlay to indicate position of ambient noises in-game.

The ROG Strix GL702ZC prices start at PHP 84,995 for the Ryzen 5 version. The Ryzen 7 version is priced at PHP 99,995.
