Today, the company revealed that this device recently received the support of US carriers and will start shipping this summer! In addition, those who pre-ordered this machine will be getting their units much earlier!

In case you missed it, here's what the RED Hydrogen One has to offer:

1. The Hydrogen One is a modular smartphone based on pogo pin system.
2. It has a holographic display which can be set in 4V mode where it will dim a bit and pops up a better than 3D images that doesn't need special glasses.
3. It also has a 2D mode via its 5.7-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution.
4. It's equipped with Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and 4,500mAh battery
5. This handset will also have a headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and dual SIM (hybrid) card slot.
6. It also allows users to shoot 3D to 4V on the smartphone on both sides.

Here's the explanation for the 3D to 4V mode:

The 4V files match the pixel resolution of a traditional 2D file, which is great for downloading. The resolution perception is just different. The horizontal resolution of 2D is now split into depth layers. It gives a completely different feeling. All the pixels are there… but instead of "looking at” a pic, you are immersed in the image. It is quite spectacular. As a resolution guy, I absolutely prefer watching 4V over 2D.

Lastly, GSMArena quoted that the phone is made for hard-core photo and video enthusiasts or professionals.

The RED Hydrogen One will be available at US carriers this summer with a starting price of USD 1,200 (PHP 61K) for the aluminum version. On the other hand, the titanium variant is priced at USD 1,600 (PHP 81K).
