Qualcomm announces new modems with X24 (2 Gbps) and X50 (5 Gbps) LTE speeds
The X24

The Snapdragon X24 modem is first 7nm process chipset with support up to 2 Gbps of LTE speeds! That's nearly twice as high as the X20 found on the Snapdragon 845 processor.

It supports up to 7x carrier aggregation on the downlink, 4X4 MIMO on up to 5 aggregated carries, up to Cat 20 upload speeds, 3x20 MHz CA, and up to 256-QAM.

In addition, Qualcomm also introduced the Snapdragon X50 modem. It's probably the fastet mobile modem in the worldm right now. It highlights up to 5 Gbps speeds!

Initially, it is working on the 28 GHz band (mmWave) and spanning 800 MHz of bandwidth (split into eight 100 MHz links via MIMO).

Qualcomm will demonstrate the chips at MWC 2018 in together with Ericsson, Netgear, and Telstra.

The Snapdragon X24 is set to arrive on devices in H1 2019. There's no timetable for the Snapdragon X50 yet though.
