Samsung just revealed their 2018 home entertainment lineup at their New York event. New QLED TVs, UHD TVs and Ultra-Large Screen TVs and more are shown.

They are trying to push the boundaries of design, picture quality and smart capabilities for their home entertainment ecosystem. Samsung's 2018 QLED line is said to allow consumers to enjoy content without any distractions.

Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, stated this:

Ambient Mode

First thing highlighted in the event was Ambient Mode. This provides users with useful information all throughout the day. This also happens even if there no user actively watching movies or TV, It can play music or display news headlines, traffic report and weather updates. There is even an exclusive feature for wall-mounted TVs wherein Ambient Mode can mimic the pattern on the wall behind the TV or create a visual effect to make the TV blend into the wall.

One Invisible Connection

Another highlight for minimalists, is the new One Invisible Connection which is a one slim cable that combines both the power and AV data to the TV. The length available is up to 15 meters which allows owners the flexibility in terms of where they can place their TVs.

Smart TV

The new smart capabilities of the QLED lineup is said to "revolutionize" the way TVs are set up and ways of finding content. There is the new Effortless Login feature that will use the SmartThings App to make setting up a new smart TV easier. There is also the new Universal Guide that puts all the supported streaming services into one menu.

Direct Full Array

The Q8C and Q9F QLED TVs looks to deliver crytal clear and crisp image through their new Direct Full Array technology. DFA is said to be using a panel with zones of intelligently controlled back lighting that automatically adapts to what is in the screen to be able to show deep blacks and pure whites.

Samsung SoundBar and 2018 TV Lineups:

There are two new Soundbars and a total of 8 series of TVs across the QLED, Premium UHD, UHD and Ultra-Large Screen TVs with a large variety of sizes.

The Soundbar will include the following:

  • HW-N950 - The HW-N950 will include front-firing, up-firing and new side-firing speakers with Dolby Atmos audio technology thet creates an extraordinary cinematic experience. It can deliver 7.1.4 multi-dimensional audio.
  • HW-N650 - This is the Soundbar designed for gamers. It is said to habe the Samsung Acoustic Beam Technology that can deliver surround sound experience that simulates what the gamer sees on the screen.

QLED TV - This line will feature HDR 10+ compatability, Ambient Mode, Smart TV enhancements, One Remote Control and One Invisible Connection.

  • Q8C QLED TV - 55-inch, 65-inch variants
  • Q7F QLED TV - 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch variants
  • Q6F QLED TV - 55-inch, 65-inch variants

Premium UHD - This has dynamic crystal color, HDR 10+, Clean Cable Solutions, Smart TV Enhancements with One Remote Control.

  • NU8500 Premium UHD TV
  • NU800 Premium UHD TV

UHD TV - This line will feature Real 4K UHD, HDR picture capabilities, clean cable solutions, slim design and Smart TV capabilities.

  • NU7100 UHD TV - 43-inch, 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch variants
  • NU7300 UHD TV - 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch variants

Samsung's 2018 home entertainment line up will be rolling out to stores starting on April 2018. Stay tuned for the official local SRP.
