Apple releases iOS 15 with Face ID while wearing mask support!

The update comes less than a week after the official reveal of the new iPhone SE 2022 and the green-colored iPhone 13 phones. It brings bug fixes, 

The new update brings new emojis, a new voice option for Siri, a face mask feature, and many more.

It has 37 new emojis including melting faces, biting lips, heart hands, and more, Health and Wallet Support for EU COVID-19, vaccination certificates, ability to use the Face ID (face unlock) feature even while wearing the mask, Apple Card widget, iCloud Plus Custom Email Domain, SharePlay in Shaer Menu, Apple TV Up Next preferences, Disable Shortcut Automations notifications, New Notifications section in the App Store, new anti-stalking mode at Find My Network accessories, Siri voice option when using Americana accent, Notes in Keychain, and may more.

Probably, the feature that most will talk about is its new ability to use the Face ID while wearing the mask. This feature will be available for iPhone 12 and later users who will update to iOS 15.4.

  • iCloud custom email domains can be managed from Settings
  • News offers enhanced discovery of audio content in the Today feed and Audio tab
  • Camera in keyboard can be used to add text to Notes and Reminders
  • Shortcuts now supports adding, removing, or querying tags with Reminders
  • Emergency SOS settings have changed to use Call with Hold for all users. Call with 5 Presses is still available as an option in Emergency SOS settings
  • Close-up in Magnifier uses the ultra-wide camera on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max to help you see small objects
  • Saved passwords can now include your own notes in Settings
  • This release also includes bug fixes for your iPhone:
  • Keyboard may insert period between typed numbers
  • News widgets in Today View may not open articles when tapped
  • Photos and videos may not sync to iCloud Photo Library
  • Speak Screen Accessibility feature may quit unexpectedly within the Books app
  • Live Listen may not turn off when switched off in Control Center

The update is about 1.3GB big. To download go to Settings > General > Software Update. To be sure, back up your files before updating.
