Apart from the dual main camera configuration, the other highlight of the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is its incredible 5,000 mAh of battery on a slim 7.99 mm frame. It's a high-level type of engineering not often achieved even on high-end handsets without sacrificing thickness level.

If you can also recall, the battery capacity of the old Zoom isn't that impressive. That's the reason why we really got excited that this new Zoom comes with upgraded battery capacity. Asus also claimed that this has Qualcomm's Quick Charge 1.0  (5V 2A 10W) tech to compensate the increase in capacity.

Battery Test Results

So, for the past few days, we tested how its HUGE new battery fared in PC Mark's Work 2.0 battery life test. In that test, the handset clocked a high score of 15 hours and 41 mins! It's more than double than the 6 hours and 38 mins score of the old Zoom!

It's also higher than what the regular ZenFone 3 (14 hours and 7 mins) and ZenFone 3 Max ZC553KL (14 hours and 31 mins) got using the same testing method.

Compared with the Acer Liquid Zest Plus with the same 5,000 mAh of battery at 15 hours 7 mins, the score that the ZenFone 3 Zoom got is still higher by several minutes. It's impressive considering that the offering of Asus is definitely beefier in specs.

Charging time using the stock 5V 2A 10W charger is decent at a little under 3 hours from 0 to 100 percent. We wished it to be a little faster though.

Overall, we're very impressed!
