Unboxing / Accessories

The box
The box

The Thrill Boost 3 arrived with Cloudfone's prettiest box yet. It showed that the phone has an 18:9 screen aspect ratio dubbed as the Infinite Vision Display.

Inside, you'll see one of the most loaded set of accessories and freebies found on a budget smartphone. There's a 1A USB wall charger, USB to micro USB data or charging cable, screen protector, clear TPU case, and Spotify earphones with eartips.

Build Quality / Design

The Thrill Boost 3 is made out of a plastic frame, plastic cover case, and glass screen. Build is decent and solid enough for the price, but don't expect it to be the sturdiest around. The 2.5D curved glass has no extra layer of Gorilla Glass protection against scratches as well.

Right

Design-wise, its one of the most stylish sub PHP 3K phone. The tall 18:9 screen made it look like a trendy modern Galaxy phone for much less. It also has minimal side, top, and bottom bezels. Its bottom bezel bezel is even slimmer than other 18:9 phones like the higher-end ZenFone Max Plus M1 and Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus

The phone has generous curves and doesn't look that thick too. It has no camera protrusion as well.

However, the paint finish could chip off easily. Use the case included in the package to prevent that from happening.

In terms of ergonomics, the phone is easy to hold and not that slippery. We also liked that it has no sharp edges and the power button is textured so we can easily distinguish it from the volume rocker easily.

You can also easily locate the 3.5 mm headphone jack slot and the micro USB port on top.

Initial findings

1. For us, it has the best looking design for the price. Bezels are slim for a budget phone. Build is decent for the price too. The screen 5.45-inch FWVGA+ display could have been sharper though, but its quality is still acceptable for the price.
2. The specs inside are acceptable for the price. But we would have liked it better if the internal storage is a bit bigger. The performance of its 2,500mAh battery is decent so far.
3. Close to stock Android! The phone loads with Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. It is clean looking with minimal bloats. The camera UI is identical with the other higher-end Cloudfone models.
4. Speaking fo the cameras, it has a 5MP f/2.8 w/ LED flash at the back and in front. Camera quality is decent for the price. It even has portrait mode. We'll upload the camera samples soon.
5. It also has an LED light indicator. It has no OTG though.

As of the moment

The effort is impressive for the price! So far, we think that the Cloudfone Thrill Boost 3 is a very stylish device with near bezel-less tall screen and capable cameras in its class.

The specs are decent too, but we would have liked it better if the internal storage is a bit bigger.
