MWC 2018: Huawei launches MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro with quad speakers

At the ongoing MWC 2018, Huawei launched the new MediaPad M5 series. Both arrived with premium metal unibody build, features, and an optional stylus.

First is the MediaPad M5 8.4, the smaller tablet with 2560 x 1600 resolution IPS screen with 2.5D curved glass. Inside, it is powered by the Kirin 960 octa-core processor that's also found with the Mate 9.

Huawei coupled it with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of expandable via microSD card storage. It has a 5,100mAh LiPo battery and USB Type-C port with 9V and 2A fast charging support.

They also have a 13MP AF camera behind and an 8MP snapper for selfies in front.

On the other hand, the M5 Pro is the bigger 10.8-inch tablet with the same specs found on the regular M5, but it has the M-Pen and larger 7,500mAh battery capacity.

According to Huawei, the M-Pen can sense up to 4,096 levels of pressure with buttons on the stylus for shortcuts like taking a screenshot, delete an image, and launch an app.

Huawei also highlights that the tablets has a "bespoke" keyboard with pogo pins for a 2-in-1 experience.

Both also has quad speakers tuned by Harman. Both also has dedicated power amps and support for Huawei Histen for immersive 3D sound.

The MediaPad M5 has a starting price of EUR 350 (around PHP 22K).
