Smart Communications brings LTE-A to Sagada!

Locals and visitors alike can now enjoy Smart Communications Inc.'s LTE services in beautiful province of Sagada.

In their push to provide LTE advanced with carrier aggregation for everyone, Smart Communications Inc. has fired up an LTE Cell site in the beautiful town of Sagada as there is a clear demand from locals and tourists alike.

This is part of Smart’s broader effort to deliver world-class internet service to every corner of the country, said Mario G. Tamayo, PLDT and Smart Senior Vice President for Network Planning and Engineering. Now that our sites are now up in areas like Sagada, we will be able to serve our customers better, wherever they may be. With this expanded network, our customers in Sagada can now enjoy a better mobile data experience as they watch and learn from YouTube videos, share Sagada’s breathtaking views to the rest of the world via Instagram, and keep in touch with loved ones here and abroad via Facebook, FB Messenger, and other messaging apps, Tamayo added. 

The event was also graced by the Municipal Indigenous People's Mandatory Representative: Mr. Jaime Dugao. He led the ceremonies that shows their honor and their respect towards their ancestors and their traditions, but with foresight and wisdom to accept advancements in science and technology for the future of their culture and descendants.

They hope that with this new service will help locals in their daily activities and will attract tourists to visit and experience Sagada's rich culture and natural beauty.

Q&A session

This was followed by an Q&A session where representatives from the locals and Smart spoke about why and how this monumentous undertaking came to be. Smart's services was already present in the past but due to unforeseen circumstances, the services were limited.

In the end, it is because of the cooperation between the local government, the local religious and cultural leaders and Smart Communications Inc. have made LTE now available to locals and visitors alike!
