Xiaomi now has their own camera department to improve their mobile photography game!
The Redmi Note 5

As a we all know, Xiaomi is known for making affordable smartphones with great specs most of the time. But, they still have a lot of work to do in the camera department in order to compete with the mid-range offerings of their competitors.

For example, the cameras of the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are just okay. But, it is far from exceptional in quality.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 5 can produce good photos using its main cameras for the price, but the selfie camera is not consistent at all.

In addition, all budget Mi phones that we tested comes with a default pro camera mode, there's no way you can adjust the shutter speed, EV, and focus right of the bat.

Only the Mi MIX 2S is their highly regarded camera phone of 2018 as per DxOMark with a total score of 101 points.

Fortunately, Xiaomi is aware of this. Hopefully, the creation of their own camera department can further improve the quality of their cameras.

Most likely, we will see the fruit of Xiaomi's labor in the near future.
