Vivo NEX Dual Display Edition with two screens, no notch, and triple cameras now official

Vivo has officially launched the NEX Dual Display Edition that has no notch, two displays and triple cameras. One of the camera has an aperture of f/1.3.

The highlights

Dubbed as the NEX Dual Display Edition, it sports two screens. The main one is a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display at 2340 x 1080. It has a tall aspect ratio at 19:5:9 with 91.63 percent screen-to-body ratio. 

The second panel found at the back is a 5.49-inch FHD Super AMOLED display running at 1920 x 1080. It also has a 16:9 aspect ratio. Some uses for the rear display has been demonstrated such as a rear gaming touchpad, as a viewfinder for selfies and more.

It also has three cameras found at the back of the device. The camera system consist of a 12MP f/1.8, 1/2.55-inch sensor with 4-axis OIS and Dual Pixel PDAF, 2MP f/1.8 depth sensor and a TOF camera with an aperture of f/1.3. It is the widest aperture size on any smartphone yet.

Inside, it has a Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor running at 2.7GHz, Adreno 630 GPU, 10GB of RAM with 128 internal storage and a 3,500mAh battery. It is pretty much what you would expect from a flagship device, but that 10GB of RAM is huge.

It also has 4G LTE, Dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/acn Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, BDS and GLONASS. It is also USB OTG ready and has a USB Type-C 1.0 port.

It runs with Android 9.0 Pie with FunTouch OS 4.5 on top.

Price and availability

The Vivo NEX Dual Display Edition is set to be available in China on December 29. It has two colors available in polar blue and nebula purple.

The price is CNY 4,998 which is around PHP 38,200. Local availability is yet to be confirmed but we will update you as soon as we get any information about it.
