Aside from its stylish 3D glass-like back cover design, waterdrop notch screen, and 4,230mAh battery, the new OPPO A7 is equipped with capable cameras.

It features a 13MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 dual-camera setup with AI optimization and bokeh mode. OPPO also stated that it has the multi-frame image stabilization technology for better videos.
For selfies, there's a 16MP f/2.0 sensor with AI Beauty 2.0 and LED flash. It also has HDR to make selfies look clearer even in backlight conditions.
Based on its camera specs and features, it should be a capable mid-ranger shooter.

Quick thoughts
Based on the first few shots we took, the OPPO A7 shoots images with plenty of details and good dynamic range in day light. The HDR is fine and its color is on the warm side. Some may find it a bit saturated.
The 2x zoom is also quite good. It is quite detailed even if it is a digital zoom. The AI bokeh has decent edge detection and close to natural looking bokeh.
Low light images are okay. However, it noticeably softer and less detailed than the shots taken with the primary camera. Use the flash when needed. It has no pro mode though.
The selfies that this smartphone can take is highly detailed as well. The AI face beauty is just a bit too much. Even on default (no filter) mode, softening is still present. In low light, it'll struggle by a bit. But, it is still decent for me.
So far, we find its cameras decent for the price.
But as usual, we will reserve our final judgement in our full review.
To those who missed our report, the OPPO A7 is priced at PHP 13,990.
