This is why GCash has been boosting its platform to promote mobile banking among Filipinos, taking advantage of the country's high smartphone penetration and the Filipinos' love for online shopping.

Supporting this, the company teamed up with more than 30 banks, enabling its users to make GCash-to-bank and bank-to-GCash transactions. 

Major banks including Bank of the Philippine Islands, BDO, Metrobank, Landbank of the Philippines, Philippine National Bank, among others, are onboard this initiative of bolstering the local digital economy.

The service, powered by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' InstaPay, allows users to electronically transfer funds to and from banks in real-time as well as non-bank e-money issuers in the Philippines.

So how does it work?

GCash said users can transfer funds within three minutes, but it only took us less than a minute when we tried the service.

1. You just have to download the GCash app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store and create an account. 

2. On the app, you would see the "Cash-in" and "Send Money" features, where you could transfer money to and from GCash through online banking. 

3. Users only need to input the needed bank account information, and voila! GCash will send you a mobile message or email, informing you of the transaction.
