Xiaomi Mi A3 Android One mid-ranger goes official

Xiaomi has just made the Mi A3 official, the company's mid-range phone under Google's Android One program instead of MIUI.

It is the 2019 Xiaomi phone with near-stock Android experience with timely Google updates.

Basically, it is very similar to Mi CC9e. It's a camera-focused smartphone packed with a 48MP f/1.79 Sony IMX586 main camera and a 32MP f/2.0 selfie shooter.

HD+ display

The rest of the specs include a 6.08-inch HD+ AMOLED screen, tiny notch, 7th generation In-Display fingerprint reader, 11nm Snapdragon 665 octa-core chipset,  4GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, expandable storage up to 256GB, 4,030mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

It also comes with an IR blaster, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual SIM slots.

It is looking good so far, the only glaring downside for me is its use of a downgraded HD+ display instead of an FHD+ display. To recall, Mi A2 comes with FHD+ resolution.

On July 24, the 128GB variant will be available at Xiaomi stores and mi.com, the 64GB variant will be available on a later date.
