IFA 2019: Lenovo unveils slew of Yoga PCs

Lenovo is all about making every device experience meaningful and full of conveniences. At their yearly pre-IFA event Tech Life, the brand intends its Yoga PCs to be tools of productivity and efficiency through artificial intelligence.

Lenovo goes all out with intelligent Yoga PC portfolio 

Global brand, Lenovo, sets the bar higher for convertible PCs with the release of its newest premium Yoga PCs in Berlin. To make innovations that will benefit users from the biggest down to the littlest detail, the brand partnered with trailblazers to create devices that are fast, intelligent, and will enable users to do more.

The 14-inch Yoga C940 is a beautiful all-metal 2-in-1 convertible laptop built from the ground up with intelligent and powerful features. As part of Intel’s Project Athena, the C940 is thin, light, and optimized for productivity on the fly. It is powered by a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor which can upscale video content to Super Resolution--FHD 1080p--on Windows Media Player. Users can enjoy this through an optional 4K HDR display.

This convertible also features Q-Control which promises to improve PC battery life through an AI-enhanced Intelligent Cooling Mode. This automatically adjusts the device’s performance. Meanwhile, Modern Standby allows the laptop to run tasks in the background while in sleep mode and instantly wake up when needed. When the device lid is ajar, Alexa can be activated even when the screen locked. The C940 also comes with convenient features such as TrueBlock Privacy Shutter, Windows Hello biometric authentication, and garaged pen with silo charging and windows ink. 

Additionally, the C940 also supports fast WiFi, is built with a Dolby Vision-enabled display, Rotating Sound Bar boosted by Dolby Atmos, engraved camera notch, and is available in iron gray or mica. 

The 15-inch variant of the C940 meanwhile comes with virtually similar specifications but is powered by an up to 9th Gen Intel Core processors and an optional 4K VESA400 HDR display boosted to 500 nits of brightness.

Also built under the Project Athena standards, the Yoga 14-inch S740 is a beautiful work machine that’s equipped with various intelligent features. It has Lenovo Smart Assist, as well as Alexa enabled which can answer queries and do commands even when the screen is locked.

The all-aluminum S740 is powered by up to 10th gen Intel Core processors and is easy to lug around at 1.4kg and ultra-slim at 18.1mm. It can come with an optional 4K VESA400 HDR display boosted by Dolby Vision and paired with Dolby Atmos Speaker System. Along with an optional NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU, users can be safe from eye strain with Eye Care that limits blue light emission.

It is also built with an IR camera and attention sensor that allows it to distinguish when the user is using or is away from the device and apply necessary actions such as pausing a video. The S740 also ships with intelligent cooling Q-Control and Super Resolution. 
The 15-inch S740, on the other hand, is powerful with its 9th gen Intel Core i9 mobile processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 GPU.

The all-metal Yoga C740 is a convertible PC that flips and turns into a tablet depending on the user’s needs. It is lightweight and can be easily carried around with its either 14- or 15-inch screen. It has a color-matched keyboard, TrueBlock Privacy Shutter, fingerprint login, and Alexa lock-screen support (14-inch variant).

The 14-inch variant promises battery life up to 13 hours while the 15-inch model can give up to 15 hours. Both variants come with RapidCharge and operates with a 10th gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor. It also ships with Dolby Atmos Speaker System and up to FHD VESA400 HDR touchscreen display at 500 nits bright plus Dolby Vision for the 15-inch version, or IPS (In-Plane Switching) touchscreen FHD display on the 14-inch model.

Yoga C640The 13-inch Yoga C640 is perfect for those looking for high-performance in a small package. Equipped with an up to 10th gen Intel Core i7 processor and Windows 10 Home OS, users can expect the C640 to pack a punch.

It is a premium-looking device with a 360-degree flexible hinge design that allows the user to work however they want. It also features optional integrated ultra-fast 4G LTE (WiFi-only option is available with an optional WiFi 67 connectivity), up to 20 hours of battery life, Cortana, FHD wide-angle display and user-facing speakers optimized with Dolby Atmos, and an optional Lenovo digital pen.

Price and availability

The 14-inch Lenovo Yoga C940 will be available in EMEA this September for EUR 1,499 or approx. PHP 85,772, while its 15-inch version will roll out in October with a EUR 1,899 price tag or approx. PHP 108,660. The Lenovo Yoga S740 will be available this September for EUR 899 or approx. PHP 51,440 for the 14-inch and EUR 1,399 or approx. PHP 80,000 for the 15-inch model. 

The 14 and 15-inch Yoga C740 will come to EMEA markets in September for EUR 899 or approx. PHP 51,440 while the Yoga C460 will be out in October with an EUR 899 or approx. PHP 51,440 tag.

Just note that the above PH prices are out of straight conversion without taxes and duties yet.

There's still no word when these devices will be available in Asia.
