PLDT start Baguio tourism rehab with Smart WiFi expansion

PLDT, along with Smart, kicked off Baguio City's tourism rehab with Smart WiFi expansion. It is designed to deliver faster, free, and reliable internet in more areas in the region.

This is a joint project between PLDT, Smart, and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong. The campaign will roll-out fiber-powered, carrier-grade Smart WiFi to cover more sites across Baguio including Mines View Park, Burnham Park, Baguio City Public Market, Malcolm Square, Wright Park, Baguio City Convention Center, Baguio City General Hospital, and additional sites on Session Road.

Smart WiFi is currently active in high-traffic areas such as the City Hall of Baguio, The Camp, NBI Regional Office in Upper Session Road, Partas Bus Terminal, and Saint Louis University.

This project is also a part of Smart's LTE network and PLDT's fiber home expansion in the city as well as the whole country. Smart Infocast, a web-based text message broadcast solution, was also unveiled during the same ceremony.

This will allow Baguio City LGU to broadcast announcements and critical information to its employees via SMS.
