Lenovo unveils 2020 Legion gaming laptops and PCs

Lenovo Philippines just revealed an array of new Legion laptops and several new gaming PCs.

The laptops highlight Cooler thermals, TrueStrike keyboard, immersive displays, and improved battery life.

Lenovo's early 2020 gaming-focused line

First is the Legion 7i, a premium 15-inch gaming laptop in Slate Gray colorway and RGB lighting accents.

Inside, it is powered by up to 10th Gen Intel Core i9 H-series overclocked mobile processors and up to GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU with advanced thermal management.

It comes with cooling vents in the base, Coldfront 2.0 with integrated Vapor Champer and thermal array sensor array. It has a dual-fan system of 73 liquid-crystal polymer fan blades and four dedicated thermal channels as well. The laptop is just 2.2 kg heavy and it even has a 6-point thermal sensor for cooler and quieter gaming sessions. There's a Dual Burn tech that pushes the CPU and GPU together to achieve max in-game performance.

The 15-inch IPS display comes with FHD+ resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and under 1ms response time. It also has 100 percent sRGB color accuracy and up to 500 nits brightness.

Lenovo boasts that it has up to 32GB DDR RAM, up to 2TB NVMe PCIe SSD, and 80WHr battery with Rapid Charge Pro fast charging tech.

The laptop also has an abrasion-resistant keyboard with trackpad and dedicated media keys along with a Dolby Atmos Speaker System.

The Legion 5Pi, on the other hand, sports a minimalist design and a white-backlit "Y" logo. It uses a 15-inch HDR 1080p 240Hz refresh rate screen, 10th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or GTX GPUs, Coldfront 2.0 thermal system, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD, 80WHr battery with Rapid Charge Pro, durable keyboard with media controls, Harman Kardon speakers, Dolby Atmos, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5, and a built-in webcam. It weighs at just 2.5 kg.

Lenovo also released the Legion 5i and Legion 5, the company's mainstream Windows 10 gaming laptops.

Legion 5i comes with a 15.6-inch or 17-inch IPS 1080p 240Hz screens with HDR 400 and 100 percent sRGB colors. They come with the latest 10th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or GTX GPUs, Coldfront 2.0 thermal management, and TrueStrike keyboard.

Meanwhile, the Legion 5 comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p display with 144Hz refresh rate, HDR, 100 percent sRGB, Dolby Vision, and thin bezels. It is powered by an AMD chip.

The lightweight Legion Y740Si

Lenovo will also bring its slimmest and lightest laptop here, the Legion Y740Si. It weighs at just 1.7 kg. it goes with a 15-inch IPS display with 4K 3840 x 2160 resolution, HDR 400, Dolby Vision, and 100 percent RGB.

The Legion Y740Si also has a Legion BoostStation with an optional external GPU with either GeForce RTX 2060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB graphics.

For budget games, Lenovo also introduced the IdeaPad Gaming 3i laptop. It's a 15-inch FHD IPS laptop with an optional 120Hz refresh rate, up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 H-series mobile processor, up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, improved thermals with an extra heat pipe to the GPU + dual thermal vents.

It also comes with a backlit keyboard with a full-sized number keys. The laptop is available in Iridescent Chameleon Blue or Onyx Black colors.

Legion Tower 5i

Lenovo also announced the Legion Tower 5i for high-performance gaming, Idea Centre Gaming 5i,  IdeaCentre Gaming 5, and Legion Y25-25 Gaming Monitor with 25-inch size and 240Hz refresh rate.
