An 8K movie produced using flagship Galaxy phones!

Samsung said that the film was shot using the 8K video mode of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note20 "except for a few special effect scenes."

The movie directed by Kim Jee-woon starred The King: Eternal Monarch and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin) Hallyu star under 30 Kim Go-eun and Dr. Romantic 2, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol star Kim Joo-hun.

Samsung noted that "Untact" is the story of Sung-hyun (Kim Joo-hun) returns to Korea in 3 years. He spends the long self-quarantine days watching playful vlog videos of Soo-jin (Kim Go-eun).

In the movie, the stars were shown using several Samsung products in a subtle way just like in K-dramas.

To recap, most 2020 flagship Samsung Galaxy phones have the ability to shoot up to 8K at 30fps videos. The first handsets to feature 8K video shooting are the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra.

A few months later, Samsung refined it and reintroduced a wider and better 8K 30fps video mode on the Galaxy Note20 Series.

Samsung made this tech possible by using high-quality sensors which include the 108MP cameras found on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Just note that the video that Samsung uploaded on YouTube is just the 1080p version of the movie that was shot on 8K. Samsung said that soon, the 8K version will be released.
