OnePlus 9 series announced, co-developed with Hasselblad

There are two models in the series namely the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. Both devices have a premium curved design with comfort in mind. The OnePlus 9 has three colors in Winter Mist, Astro Black, and Arctic Sky. The first two have a glossy finish while the third one has a frosted matte finish.

The One Plus 9 Pro features a 2mm thin aluminum frame with curved edges all over. It has three colors in Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black.

The OnePlus 9 features a 6.55-inch 2400 x 1080 FHD+ hole-punch LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 1100 nits brightness. The Pro version has a 6.7-inch 120Hz 3.216 x 1440 QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen with HDR10+, 10-bit color depth, MEMC, and 1300 Nits peak brightness. The Fluid Display 2.0 LTPO displays feature improved battery consumption and responsive touch control with HyperTouch. HyperTouch minimizes touch latency in games for a more immersive control.

Both devices combine both flat and curved screen designs. Both feature curved glass panels with a tighter edge for a more accurate touch control in the sides and edges of the screen.

Inside, both devices feature the latest Qualcomm chip with the 5nm Snapdragon 888 5G octa-core processor with Adreno 660 GPU. Both also feature 2 RAM/storage configurations with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM/128GB and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM/256GB configuration as well as 4,500mAh batteries with 65W WarpCharge 65T.

In terms of thermal management, both feature the Cool Play advanced cooling system that features heat sinks that suck heat away from the processor and your hands.

The highlight still is the cameras of the OnePlus 9 series. This time the brand collaborated with known camera maker Hasselblad to develop the cameras of the two devices. The OnePlus 9 features a triple-rear camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX689 sensor with OIS, 7P lens + 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor + 2MP monochrome sensor system. The OnePlus 9 Pro will have a quad-camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX789 sensor with OIS, 7P lens + 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor + 2MP monochrome sensor system + 8MP telephoto sensor combination. Both phones have a 16MP sensor for selfies.

The new WarpCharge 65T can charge the 4,500mAh battery to 100 percent in just 29 minutes. In terms of the 50W wireless WarpCharge technology can charge to 100 percent in just 43 minutes. Oxygen OS also new features like Turbo Boost that uses RAM compression and Virtual RAM for faster performance.

The main sensor of the OnePlus 9 series is 320 percent larger than the iPhone 12 Pro Max main sensor. The 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor uses a free-form lens to minimize line distortion to as low as 1 percent. The same sensor can also shoot as close as 4cm for some amazing macro shots.

The 48MP Sont IMX789 provides a more natural color due to its 12-bit RAW output that can collect 64 times color information compared to the competition. It also has a wide dynamic range and punchy colors. It can also capture amazing details as well. It can also be used for the new Tilt-Shift mode and Night mode.

There's also a new watermark featuring the OnePlus X Hasselblad name position in the bottom middle of the photo. It also features the Hasselblad Pro Mode for where you can adjust the ISO, Whitebalance, Shutter Speed, Exposure, and Focus. It also has features such as Focus Peaking and the ability to shoot 12-bit RAW.

For videos, it can shoot stable videos with OIS at 8K 30fps and 4K 120fps. It also has DOL-HDR that allows the sensors to shoot longer and shorter exposure videos to combine into one HDR video. It also has Nightscape Mode for videos.
