Large 10mm drivers?
In China, Huawei has launched the successor to last year's Huawei FreeBuds 4i. The latest True Wireless Earbuds feature a new hybrid Active Noise Cancellation with up to 42db noise cancellation.
Huawei claims that the new 10mm large dynamic drivers with polymer composite diaphragm "intelligently" detect the user's ear shape and wearing tightness and then optimize the audio effect while reducing the lack of low frequency caused by sound leakage which should offer a better music listening experience.
The FreeBuds 5i also comes with dual-microphone noise reduction for calls and works with an AI neural network enhancement algorithm to extract human voices from environmental noise to increase the clarity of the user's voice.
It can connect to two devices at the same time without switching back and forth between the devices. This feature supports TV, PC, tablets, mobile phones, and others. This means that when the user is using a PC for a video call and the user's mobile phone rings, the earphones can switch between them easily.
Huawei says that the earphones offer 94ms low-latency mode thru Bluetooth 5.2. It features ANC mode, Transparent mode, and dual microphone AI call noise reduction.
Each bud has a 55mAh battery which is rated for 6 hours of playback with ANC while the charging case carries 410mAh which extends the total listening time to 18.5 hours with Active noise cancellation. The case charges via USB-C.
The earbuds measure 30.9 x 23.9 x 21.7mm while the cause measures 48.2 x 61.8 x 26.9mm. Each earbud weighs 4.6 grams while the case weighs 33.9 grams.
Lastly, the new earphones will come in Island Blue, Interstellar Black, and ceramic white. All three have a delicate pebble-like texture.

The Huawei FreeBuds 5i is now available for pre-order and will be on sale in China on June 18, 2022.
There is no word yet on International or Philippines pricing and availability.
