Garmin launched a campaign 'Never Stop Cycling' that advocates consistency, perseverance, and transformation among cyclists. In line with this, the company has been expanding its collection by adding advanced and reliable equipment designed for aspiring and professional cyclists.

One of the new devices is the Edge 1040 Solar, a solar GPS bike computer that sports multi-band GNSS technology and innovative features. Allegedly, it allows cyclists to ride longer, explore farther, and train harder. Garmin Asia Assistant GM Scoppen Lin explained,

Cyclists expect as much from their GPS bike computer as they do themselves, and that is why we are thrilled to introduce the Edge 1040 Solar. Durable, accurate, and ready to go the distance, the Edge 1040 Solar is the pinnacle of GPS bike computers. No matter where you ride, or what bike you choose to use, the Edge 1040 Solar is ready for any adventure – from remote gravel trails to epic climbs.

Garmin said that Edge 1040 can provide 35 hours battery life that can be extended up to 70 hours by activating battery saver mode. Meanwhile, its solar charging lens reportedly prolongs battery life by as much as 100 hours on battery saver mode.

In addition to this, the multi-band GNSS technology enables Edge 1040 and Edge 1040 Solar to have more accurate GPS positioning and coverage so cyclists can explore challenging environments such as dense urban areas or locations with thick tree foliage.

The Edge 1040 series also features popular routing and turn-by-turn inform riders. These tools keep riders informed of popular roads and warn of sharp curves, respectively. The Trailforks app, on one hand, allows cyclists to view routes and trail details from more than 80 countries.

Lastly, cyclists can revisit their performance with the use of Firstbeat Analytics. Garmin said offers insights on VO2 max, recovery time, training load, training focus, and others. Aside from that, it also shows daily workout suggestions based on their VO2 max and training load results.

Another cycling equipment that is freshly offered by the company is the Garmin Rally XC200. It is designed for off-road cyclists, introducing its compatibility with SHIMANO SPD cleats.

Garmin created the Rally XC200 to measure total power, cadence, left/right balance, power phase, and more. It has sensors that deliver reliable and accurate data for every ride and training session.

Allegedly, the dual-sensing pedal-based power meters let cyclists review right and left leg data metrics separately to better understand their strengths and weaknesses and improve their pedaling form.

It also enables them to monitor their time seated and standing to measure position effectiveness and determine where power is being applied on the pedals for proper cleat positions.

Like any other pedal, it can be installed and swapped between bikes. The company claims that Rally XC200has up to 120 hours of battery life, so it can support training for weeks or even months at a time.

The power meters are also compatible with well-known indoor training platforms, including the Tacx Training app, Zwift, TrainerRoad, etc.
