MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G processor w/ 200MP camera support now official

Mediatek just launched its latest 5G chipset with the Dimensity 1080. It is the follow-up to the Dimensity 920 as a new midrange SoC.

In comparison to the Dimensity 920, the new 5G chipset gives a great performance boost and significantly improved camera features. With an Arm Mali-G68 GPU and an updated octa-core CPU with two Arm Cortex-A78 CPU cores running at up to 2.6GHz, the Dimensity 1080 offers quicker performance for surfing, streaming, and gaming. Numerous power-saving advantages of the chipset's 6nm architecture result in extended battery life.

The Dimensity 1080 comes equipped with MediaTek's Imagiq image signal processor (ISP) and support for a 200MP main camera, giving customers access to all the most recent camera features they need to create incredibly high-quality pictures and videos. In addition, the chipset incorporates a hardware-accelerated HDR video recording engine to process videos up to 4K resolution, providing the streamer generation with higher video capture outcomes in all lighting scenarios.
