realme GT Neo 5 announced w/ 150W and 240W models, SD8+G1!

realme announced the two GT Neo 5 smartphone variants with superfast charging capabilities.

The three colorways

realme GT Neo 5 unveiled!

realme doesn't stop from releasing devices with fast charging capabilities, the first model comes with a 240W adaptor with a 4,600mAh battery, while there's also a slightly toned down but still fast charging 150W variant with a higher 5,000mAh battery.

Crazy fast charging speed!

Based on what the brand claims, the 240W charger can reach 20 percent in just 80 seconds, 50 percent in 4 minutes, and 100 percent in under 10 minutes.

It is also safe as TUV Rheinland certified the battery to last up to 1,600 charging cycles which is twice the standard of current phones today. More it can retain up to 80 percent after that which translates to more than four years of typical usage.

Both devices bear similar rear designs with three color choices of Purple with two vertical patterns and Black and White models with a simpler look. Additionally, realme added some gamery vibe on the right portion of the camera island with rectangular RGB LED lights.

Display-wise the two smartphones have 6.74-inch 10-bit AMOLED screens with 144Hz refresh rate and 2772 x 1240 resolution, DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 1,500Hz touch sampling rate.

For internals, it is equipped with a 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor w/ New-Adreno GPU. When it comes to memory configurations, the 240W model has 16GB RAM and 256GB or 1TB storage. While the 150W edition gets 8GB, 12GB 16GB RAM choices but the storage is limited to 256GB.

The cameras

For cameras, it uses 50MP 1/1.56 Sony IMX890 sensor, OIS, 6P lens f/1.9 + 8MP 112-degree ultra-wide snapper, and 2MP macro helper. For selfies, it has a 16MP Samsung sensor.

Other features listed are the 8-component cooling tech that includes a vapor chamber, and multiple layers of graphite to handle heat dissipation.

For connectivity, it has 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and dual-SIM support.

On the software side, the phone runs Android 13 w/ realme UI 4.0.

The smartphones are now available to order in China and the sale begins on February 15,2023. realme CEO Sky Li confirmed a global release will come soon so stay tuned.
