Acer Philippines has just acknowledged that a security incident has recently occurred.

Acer Philippines: No breach or leak of any Acer Philippines Customer Database

According to its press release, the incident happened with its third-party vendor responsible for managing employee attendance data. It resulted in unauthorized access to a database containing specific employee information.

Thankfully, the Taiwanese PC giant assured everyone that there was no actual breach or leak of any Acer Philippines Customer Database. Acer said that their internal systems "safeguard their database" and the company is dedicated to upholding "the most rigorous levels of data protection".

The company said that they have also notified the National Privacy Commission (NPC) as well as the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to investigate the issue.
