Higher PC Game prices this June 2025

Yes, you read that right, that means there will be a slight bump in the price when you buy games on Steam starting June 2025. Additionally, the 12 percent VAT will also apply to purchases made on the Steam Workshop.

Why did this happen?

This change was a result of the VAT on digital services law that was passed last October 2024.

The FAQ table also shows that the Philippines had the highest tax rate in the Southeast Asian region with 12 percent. Others like Thailand had 7 percent, Singapore at 9 percent, Malaysia at 10 percent, and Indonesia at 11 percent.

Again keep in mind that the VAT is inclusive, which means the prices of games and Workshop items will already include the 12 percent value-added tax. Meaning you don't have to compute what were the added price when purchasing what you want.

Finally, now seems to be the perfect opportunity to get your preferred games while they are still priced a bit lower. Moreover, there's also an ongoing Steam Spring Sale which makes them much affordable.

What do you guys think?
