President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reaffirmed the administration's goal to complete the Metro Manila Subway Project in three years.

Sana matapos natin ito hanggang sa Valenzuela, baka matapos natin ito 2028. Baka puwede nang in-inaugurate sa 2028, Marcos said.

The Metro Manila Subway is a 33-kilometer underground railway. It will have 17 stations, cutting travel time between Valenzuela City and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from two hours to 40 minutes.

Marcos said that the Metro Manila Subway project collaboration also helps Filipino engineers learn from their Japanese counterparts.

We look forward to the day when we can say na nasakyan na natin ‘yung subway sa Pilipinas. We have taken the tube to go to work, the president said.

Once completed, the subway will be able to transport 519,000 passengers between Valenzuela and Parañaque.
