vivo Y50 5G, Y50m 5G launched: Dimensity 6300, 90Hz LCD, and 6,000mAh battery

vivo introduces the Y50 5G and Y50m 5G with nearly identical details except their storage options.

New budget 5G series announced

The devices come in Platinum White, Sky Blue, and Diamond Black color options, featuring a sleek design with an IP64-rated chassis measuring 167.3 x 76.95 x 8.19mm and weighing 204 grams.

The phones feature a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen includes a waterdrop notch and is paired with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, both models are powered by the 2.4GHz 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

Both are paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of internal storage (UFS 2.2). The 6GB+128GB variant, however, uses eMMC 5.1 storage.

The vivo Y50m 5G is nearly identical to the vivo Y50 5G, with the only difference being its base variant starting at 6GB RAM (compared to the Y50's 4GB option).

A 6,000mAh battery fuels the devices with USB-C 44W fast charging support.

The cameras

For cameras, the smartphones include a 13MP single rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The rest mentioned are 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, an IR blaster, and dual SIM.

The devices run on Android with OriginOS 5.

The vivo Y50 5G series is currently available in China. No word yet for a PH release at the moment.
