The Mission 1 Pro

The highlight of the top-tier Mission 1 Pro is its GoPro GP3 processor and a 4:3 Type 1 (1-inch) sensor. It supports video recording up to 8K at 60fps in 16:9, as well as 8K Open Gate capture at 7,680 x 5,760 pixels up to 30fps. Slow-motion recording reaches up to 960fps, and still photography is supported at 50 megapixels.
The camera records in a 10-bit GP-Log2 profile and offers HLG HDR capture, with a maximum bit rate of 240 Mbps. Manual controls cover ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and exposure compensation, alongside timecode sync support for professional workflows.

GoPro states the sensor is roughly 25% larger than the one found in the DJI Osmo Action 6 and about 44% larger than the Insta360 Ace Pro 2's sensor, though these figures come directly from the manufacturer.
For audio, the Mission 1 Pro has four built-in microphones and accepts external microphone input via USB-C. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.3. The body is natively waterproof to 66 feet, extendable to 196 feet with an optional dive case.
A hydrophobic coating covers the front element, and raised buttons allow operation while wearing gloves. The rear display measures 2.59 inches (OLED), accompanied by a 1.4-inch front screen. Storage is handled via microSD.
Its battery life is rated at up to five hours during 1080p recording at standard frame rates, dropping to around 96 minutes in 8K Open Gate mode and as low as 35 minutes during 4K 240fps recording without adequate airflow. The camera uses GoPro's new Enduro 2 battery, which the company says carries 13% more capacity than its predecessor.
The Mission 1 Pro opens for pre-order on May 21 and goes on wide sale on May 28. Pricing has not been announced, with GoPro citing ongoing flash memory supply issues as a factor in the delay.
Mission 1 (Base model)

| Mission 1 Base model |
The standard Mission 1 shares the same core platform as the Pro but with reduced video specifications. It tops out at 8K recording at 30fps, supports 4K Open Gate up to 120fps, and offers slow-motion up to 4K at 120fps and 1080p at 240fps. Further specifications and pricing for this model have not been fully detailed.
Mission 1 ILS (MFT Mount)

The Mission 1 ILS is a separate model that replaces the fixed lens with a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount, enabling the use of interchangeable lenses. GoPro has not yet released full specifications for this camera. A complete announcement is expected sometime in Q3 2026, with additional details to follow closer to that date.
All three cameras are built on the same GP3 processor platform. The series represents GoPro's clearest move yet toward content creators and professionals who require more flexibility than traditional action cameras typically offer.
