Google: You can now generate downloadable files like PDFs, Word, Excel, and more in Gemini

Google Gemini just added a highly useful feature.

Gemini can now generate Word files and more

According to Google, users can now easily generate downloadable files like PDFs, Microsoft Word/Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more with just a prompt on the Gemini AI assistant service and app.

Supported formats

Workspace files (Docs, Sheets, and Slides), .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .csv, LaTeX, Plain Text (TXT), Rich Text Format (RTF), and Markdown (MD).

Most formats can be downloaded straight to your device or sent directly to Drive.

Basically, this update lets users move work seamlessly across apps.

For example, users can export a budget proposal to Excel (.xlsx), turn scattered thoughts into a bulleted draft, or condense team input into a single‑page PDF or Word (.docx).

If you have handwritten notes, you can drag or attach it into Gemini and write a prompt to turn them into a PDF or Word document as well.

Availability

The feature is now available to all Gemini app users globally.
