First impressions matter!
Previously, Instagram profiles' grid was locked in reverse-chronological order, where the latest posts were on top. Now, users can rearrange posts freely while keeping pinned content at the top and without messing up timestamps or their followers' feeds.
This long-awaited update allows users, creators, and businesses more control over the first thing people see when they visit your profile. Users can now effectively curate their profile to reflect who they are right now. Whether it's setting the tone for your creative work, putting your top products on display, or just making your profile feel more 'you.'
Reorder your grid feature's key benefits:
- Highlights the user's best work or evergreen content upfront
- Create aesthetic themes or storytelling flows
- Refreshes the user's profile without the hassle of archiving or reposting
- Changes save instantly and show to everyone viewing your profile
How to Reorder Your Instagram Grid: Step-by-step Guide
- Open the Instagram app and head to your profile (bottom right corner)
- Long-press (tap and hold) any post on your main grid
- In the pop-up menu, tap 'Reorder Grid.'
- Drag and drop posts in your desired order. Long-press again if needed to grab them. Pinned posts stay locked at the top of the feed.
- Exit the Reorder grid mode and Done! Instagram saves changes automatically.
If you do not see the option yet, you may need to update your app. If it still isn't there, you will have to wait until the update rollout reaches your region.
