Rumor: OPPO and vivo are working on their own dedicated handheld pocket cameras

Prolific leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) shared on Weibo that OPPO and vivo will launch their own handheld pocket cameras to rival DJI's OSMO line.

The devices are expected to be dedicated smart pocket gimbal cameras, not like the HONOR Robot Phone with a foldable gimbal arm housing the 200MP 4DoF main camera.

OPPO and vivo probably both saw that this market is growing and now want a piece of the pie.

According to DSC, the pocket cameras will feature 200MP 1/1.12" large sensors, built-in flagship chips, ecosystem connectivity, seamless image storage, editing, and posting.

What's even more intriguing is that the cameras are rumored to be co-branded with Hasselblad for OPPO and ZEISS for vivo.

At present, no clear schedule has been set for these devices to hit the market. However, as the buzz intensifies, we'll continue tracking developments closely.
