TECNO POVA 8 Pro launched: 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED, Dimensity 7400 Ultimate, and 6,500mAh battery

TECNO has introduced the POVA 8 Pro 5G, the newest addition to its gaming-focused smartphone lineup.

The device comes in two colorways, Arc White and Tundra Green, and measures 162.48 × 77.27 × 7.39 mm while weighing 189 grams. Its rear camera module incorporates an Alive Matrix Display, adding a distinctive design element to the back panel.

Furthermore, the phone offers IP68/69/69K dust and water resistance for enhanced protection against unwanted dirt and water splashes.

On the display front, the POVA 8 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2644 × 1208 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching 4,500 nits.

Meanwhile, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and achieves a 93.18% screen-to-body ratio.

Powering the device is the 2.6GHz 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate octa-core chipset, paired with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. 

The phone is also offered in 8GB and 12GB RAM configurations, both expandable by up to an additional 12GB through virtual RAM, alongside 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

The device is cooled using the 5,000mm2 3D vapor chamber cooling system to ensure temperatures are maintained and provide an optimal level of performance during intense gaming.

The features

The smartphone is equipped with a 6,500mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging via USB-C.

For imaging, the POVA 8 Pro 5G houses a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens on the rear, while a 13MP shooter handles selfies and video calls on the front.

In terms of connectivity and other features, the device supports WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual SIM.

The phone ships with HiOS 16 running on top of Android 16.
