The brand says external storage has evolved beyond a simple capacity add-on to become a routine part of daily computing. 

As users move large media files between devices, maintain growing personal archives, and work across multiple mobile setups, demand has grown for storage solutions that are fast, portable, and cross-platform compatible.

The newly announced Acer PA100 Portable SSD is designed to meet that demand, combining a compact design, responsive transfer speeds, and broad device compatibility.

Performance for everyday tasks

Acer mentioned the PA100 uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s and write speeds of up to 430 MB/s, offering faster file access than mechanical external drives.

To accommodate a range of storage needs, the PA100 will be available in 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB versions. Acer said it positions the lineup as suitable for both everyday document storage and larger photo, video, and project libraries, allowing users to select a capacity based on their usage and scale up over time.

The drive has a 9 mm profile and a lightweight build for portability, with reinforced construction designed to withstand daily handling and travel.

It ships with a 2-in-1 USB-C to USB-C and USB-A cable, allowing it to connect to computers, tablets, and smartphones. The manufacturer states the drive supports major operating systems and USB-C mobile platforms, enabling use across different device ecosystems.

Furthermore, the PA100 is built with a low-power design, with power consumption rated below 3W and idle consumption as low as 0.62W.

The company says this is intended to support stable performance during extended transfers and continued daily use across both mobile and desktop environments.

Finally, the PA100 comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
