Vlogging essential got big upgrades

At first glance, the Osmo 360 II closely resembles its predecessor, the original Osmo 360 launched last year. It retains the same 183-gram weight, a waterproof housing, 105GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot.

The real changes lie in the camera's internals. The Osmo 360 II introduces dual 1-inch square sensors with 2.4 μm pixels, designed to capture more light and improve low-light performance. DJI describes these as the first square sensors of their kind in the industry, offering HDR capability and 14.5 stops of dynamic range for enhanced brightness handling.

The display

Video capture sees the most significant improvements, but the camera's photo capabilities have also been upgraded. Using both sensors together, it can produce 120-megapixel still images at a 2:1 aspect ratio, or single-lens shots just over 30 megapixels at a 4:3 ratio.

A notable new addition is support for replaceable lenses. The lenses feature an ultra-hard optical coating intended to resist scratches and wear, and can be swapped out individually if damaged.

DJI Osmo 360 II features

Despite its similar external dimensions, DJI has fitted a larger 2,150 mAh battery into the device, which the company says supports up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K/30fps recording. The battery can also fast-charge to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes.

Connectivity has also been improved with the addition of NFC Quick Connect, enabling faster pairing with smartphones through the DJI Mimo app for live HD streaming and other features. The camera also supports DJI's OsmoAudio Direct Microphone Connection, allowing seamless integration with the company's wireless microphone lineup.
