Meet next Infinity Quattro

One of them is the Next Infinity Quattro, the flagship variant of the Next Infinity series. On paper, its an interesting mid-range smartphone for PHP 12,999.

Why? Aside from the Huawei's Nova 2i and Cherry's Flare S6 Plus, it's one of the very few to arrive with an 18:9 screen and quad cameras.

In particular, it boasts a 6-inch HD+ IPS screen, 13MP f/2.0 + 5MP dual cameras behind with 2x zoom / portrait mode, and a  20MP f/2.0 + 8MP f/2.4 dual selfie cameras with portrait mode, wide-angle, and softlight LED flash.

Moreover, this handset has one of the highest specs in its class!

Unboxing / Accessories

Everything inside
Everything inside

Cloudfone's packaging is better than ever. The Quattro is loaded! You'll find the 2A USB wall charger and USB to micro USB data / charging cable.

Cloudfone has also added a decent type of half in-ear monitors w/ microphone inside.

Moreover, it still has the TPU flexible clear case, plastic screen protector, SIM ejector tool, microfiber cleaning cloth, and the paper documents.

Build Quality / Design

Metal clad build

Compared with similarly priced phones, the Quattro's build is above-average! It's made out of a Mi A1 like unibody construction that's solid and sturdy. The metal frame also has nice curves behind and chamfered edges on the upper sides. Its 6-inch HD+ 18:9 2.5D screen is also protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3!

Solid construction, better than most of the mainstream competition!

Overall, the Next Infinity Quattro's construction better than most mid-range phones from the mainstream brands. Why? Unlike other plastic mid-range phones, this one is using metal and has Gorilla Glass protection on the screen.

To enhance your protection for this phone, make sure to install the free screen protector and TPU case.

Aesthetically, the design of the phone reminds us of the Nova 2i and V7+. It's also tall due to its 6-inch 18:9 screen aspect ratio.

A new 18:9 mid-range contender!

Then, like most modern phones with this new standard, the Quattro looks much smaller for the screen size. It has a 6-inch screen on a body of a regular smartphone with 5.5-inch display. Top, bottom, and side bezels are also slim!

Thickness is decent despite the big 4,010mAh battery this phablet has inside. It is just a bit thicker than what I personally like. But, that's just nitpicking on our part. This phone can still be considered as slim for its big battery size.

The main cameras behind are just slightly protruded though. Fortuantely, there's a FREE case inside that can protect it against scratches.

Ergonomically, the phone is nice to hold, Like what we mentioned earlier, it is small for the screen size. As a result, it is easier to hold versus your average 6-inch phablet.

All ports and buttons are on familiar and easy to reach locations too.

Initial Findings

The sub PHP 13K phone to beat? Possible!
The sub PHP 13K phone to beat? Possible!

1. Overall build is solid. Like the rest of the Next Infinity series, this phone has a neat 18:9 screen aspect ratio too. The resolution is still on HD+ though. But, fortunately, the quality of the IPS screen Cloudfone used is amazing. It is bright, punchy in color, and can compete w/ lower-end AMOLED panels.
2. It has one of the best specs for the price! Its 64-bit Helio P25 octa-core processor is an underrated chip. It has the gaming capable Mali-T880 MP2 graphics and less heating compared with other chips. Cloudfone even paired it with big 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and 4,010mAh battery. The battery can be charged by a 2A charger.
3. This is the best Android 7.0 Nougat OS version found on a Cloudfone device yet for me. Icons looks neat, it has no app drawer, and feature-rich. We are just not yet used to having the shortcut panel when you swipe up at the bottom. The camera software is loaded too!
4. Speaking of the cameras, this handset highlights one of the most intriguing camera setup found on a mid-range phone today. Behind, it has a 13MP f/2.0 + 5MP (depth sensor) w/ AF, 2x zoom, portrait mode and LED flash. In front, it boasts a 20MP f/2.0 + 8MP f/2.4 w/ portrait mode, wide-angle, and softlight LED flash. It's also the first local phone to have manual shutter controls from 1/8 of a second to 12 seconds.
5. It has an LED indicator, USB OTG, gyroscope sensor, light sensor, A-GPS, and 700MHz LTE. It isn't just using USB Type-C port though.

As of the moment

The Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro is probably worth the wait! The design, specs, and cameras are on point for the price.

The screen could have been sharper, but so far, we think that this phone can compete and even beat most of the mid-range phones today.

We are very excited to fully test what it can do!
