Unboxing / Accessories

The box

The FB100 simply comes in a standard sized box with Facebook icons printed below the image of the phone.

There's a 0.6A USB wall charger, regular charging / data cables, and earphones w/ microphone. The packaging is generally basic, though an inclusion of a faster charger would have been nicer.

Build / Design

Paint it blue back cover

Like what most basic Android smartphones, there's nothing much to write about the build of the FB100. It's constructed out of mostly plastic material from back cover, buttons, and the entire frame of the device. The screen is made out of a glass like layer.

This device isn't the toughest phone around that can withstand abuse, so taking good care of it is a must.

Design-wise, the bar like smartphone is sheathed with blue paint finish that resembles the color of Facebook. It also has the Facebook logo on its external button below. The phone isn't thick and has a nice type of semi arching back cover and semi rounded corners.

The phone isn't slippery to hold, far from heavy, and simply nice to hold. The power button is located at right while the volume rocker is located at left. It is just a tad confusing at first due to a slight learning curve. The rest of the ports placement are on easy to understand locations.

Initial findings

1. The FB100 has a nice type of HD screen that's still not that common on a sub PHP 3K phone. It isn't just OGS, but HD is HD.
2. Build quality needs improvement, the phone doesn't feel that solid. It is even flimsy for some.
3. Specs are basic, should be good enough for light games and social media apps. The Facebook button is gimmicky, but cool. It can be used as a toggle to open Facebook in an instant or share your gallery photos on Facebook with ease.
4. The main and front cameras found here are surprising. They are decent in colors and sharpness for the price. Have a look at our sample images below.
5. It's using on-screen keys, there's LED notification, and no OTG support.

As of the moment

Obviously, this phone doesn't have the highest specs for the price. However, we kinda liked its Facebook vibe appeal in colors and the use of the dedicated FB shortcut button so far. The cameras found here are also pretty good for the price.
