ARM Announces Cortex-A75, A55 CPUs, And Mali G72 GPU

ARM has just announced the Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 CPUs and the Mali G72 GPU, the company's next generation chipsets designed for future mobile devices.

The new Cortex-A75 is designed for notebooks. It has 22% better performance against A73, its predecessor. It also has 33% higher FP and NEON performance and 16% higher memory throughput. All of that with no increase in power consumption.

On the other hand, Cortex-A55 is said to be the best performing midrange processor of ARM. It has 18% higher single threaded performance and boasts 2x more memory streaming performance.

Both processors will pioneer ARM’s new DynamIQ technology for artificial intelligence and machine learning task even without the need of cloud or internet

Introducing Mali-G72

For graphics, the Mali-G72 will succeed the impressive Mali-G71 that's found on modern flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8 Plus and Huawei's P10, P10 Plus, and Mate 9.

It's built on the same Bifrost architecture, but promises to have 40% increase in performance, 20% better performance density, and 17% better machine learning efficiency. All of that power for 25% higher energy efficiency. It'll also be better for AR and VR applications.

ARM claims that all these latest designs will be available on mobile devices in this first quarter of 2018.
