Huawei Honor 6X / GR5 2017 To Receive Android 8.0 Oreo Update

Huawei Honor India team just confirmed that the company has plans to update the Honor 6X also known as Huawei GR5 2017 or Mate 9 Lite to Android 8.0 Oreo OS.

According to XDA user shashank1320, who was reportedly present at the meetup Honor India team and the fans, the highly anticipated Android Oreo update for Honor 6X and even Honor 8 Pro is in plans.

Let's also expect its version of Oreo to arrive with the latest EMUI skin on top.

In case you missed it, Android Oreo 8.0 Oreo OS brings a revamped notification panels, new features, robust security features, and improved overall performance. It will be easier and speedier to use as well.

He even revealed that Huawei is targeting the end of December update for Honor 8 Pro and early 2018 update for Honor 6X.

For the rest of Huawei devices? Expect most of their midrange and flagship devices to get Oreo update as well.
