What made it special? At just PHP 9,990, this is the most affordable Samsung device to load with the company's midrange grade Exynos 7870 processor w/ Mali T830 GPU built under the 14nm process.

That's the same speedy enough and power efficient chipset found on the likes of the higher-end Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J7 Pro.

As a result, Samsung is marketing this handset as the affordable Samsung phone with great speed.

Let's check it out!

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Core arrived with a metallic looking polycarbonate body with textured removable back cover for better grip and hold. It has an LED flash, protruding main camera, and speaker grill.
After opening the cover behind, you'll find the removable battery, dedicated micro SD card slot, and dual SIM slots.

In front, it has a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED screen at 267 pixels per inch. It has average sharpness, but the colors are well saturated, has proper contrast, and very deep blacks as expected.

The pretty fast processor of Samsung is coupled with just enough 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage. But, compared with competition, 2 GB RAM is small against the 3 GB RAM standard under PHP 10K today.

It has 3,000 mAh of battery to keep the lights on. Based on our experience, smartphones running on this chipset can last for an entire work day on a single charge.

Camera-wise, Samsung highlights a "lowlight ready" 13 MP f/1.9 main camera w/ autofocus and single LED flash.

Initially, it shoots images with good details and warm colors with nice dynamic range.

For selfies, it has a 5 MP f/2.2 camera in front. It is paired with an LED flash for selfies in the dark.

The rest of the features

It has WiFi, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, A GPS, GLONASS, and dual SIM slots. For sensors, it only has accelerometer, proximity, and sound. Gyroscope and light sensors are missing unfortunately.

Anyway, the other aspect of this phone that we like is it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system w/ TouchWiz UI. The UI it has reminds us of the Samsung Experience revamped skin like the Galaxy S8 series.

Then like what we mentioned before it also has
specialized game launcher to avoid alerts during game time and screenshot or record your gameplay and the usual Samsung circle of privileges.

What's missing? There's no fingerprint scanner for added personalized security.
