The growing demand for smartphones combined w/  lengthening replacement cycle of tablets and the strengthening position of traditional PCs are the reasons why the tablet market is down for twelfth consecutive quarter.

Apple is still on top w/ 10.3 million units shipped or 25.8% of the market share due to its enhanced iPad line. Apple was followed by Samsung w/ 6 million units or 15% of the market share. Samsung still relied on the low cost Galaxy Tab A and E series.

Amazon surpassed Huawei for the number 3 spot w/ 4.4 million units shipped or 10.9 percent of the market share. The company managed to grow 38.7% on an annual basis. The company's aggressive low cost hardware strategy is quite successful.

Huawei and Lenovo are statistically tied for the fourth place w/ 3 million units shipped. Huawei is just a hair ahead in the market share w/ 7.5% versus 7.4% of Lenovo.

Can the tablet market bounce back?

Let's see!
