Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus official renders revealed

Donovan Sung, Xiaomi's Director of Product Management and Marketing, recently shared official renders of the upcoming Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in a Tweet.

His teaser confirmed that the headsets will really feature 18:9 screens and will debut in China on December 7.

Both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will have taller metallic bodies and slimmer side, top, and bottom bezels.

The Redmi 5 is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch HD+ screen, Snapdragon 450 chip, up to 4GB RAM, up to 64GB storage, and 3,200mAh battery. 

The Redmi 5 Plus is expected to be the higher-end model w/ bigger 5.99-inch FHD+ screen, Snapdragon 625 chip, up to 4GB RAM, up to 64GB storage, and 4,000mAh battery.

The new Redmi 5 series phones is rumored to come w/ a 12MP primary shooter and a 5MP selfie snapper.

Both will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanners and multiple colors such as black, blue, gold and rose gold.

Both could booth w/ Android Nougat OS w/ MIUI 9 skin on top.

The Redmi 5 could be priced at just CNY 699 or around PHP 5.4K while the Redmi 5 Plus could retail for CNY 999 or around PHP 7.6K.
