CES 2018: Oculus X Xiaomi, produces Oculus Go and Mi VR

Oculus and Xiaomi partner up for two things; the Oculus Go and Mi VR. Facebook VP Hugo Barra came at CES 2018 to share news about the Oculus Go and its specs.

It is now confirmed that the Oculus Go will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip. This is the same chip that came with the LG G6 and the original Google Pixel. In addition to that, Xiaomi handled the manufacturing of the standalone Oculus VR headset. Xiaomi will also release the Mi VR which is a China-specific variant of the Oculus Go with the same spec sheet.

The only diffrence between the two are the interface and SDK. The Oculus Go will be running the Oculus Platform while the Mi VR will be running Xiaomi's own VR SDK. Both will also have a WQHD screens and will also be able to run all Gear VR titles.

The Oculus Go is said to have a USD 199 (around PHP 10K) tag price and is slated to be released in early 2018. As of now, these are only the information we gathered about the Oculus Go and Mi VR. Tune in for future news about this!
