Obviously, the Huawei Mate 10, our reigning phone of the year is ahead on paper. It has the speedier chip, better main cameras, bigger battery, higher LTE category, newer OS, and stereo speakers.
However, you cannot underestimate the Galaxy A8+ (2018). As a matter of fact, it has few notable advantages over the Mate 10 that could fit your lifestyle better. It has a 18:9 screen, IP68 water and dust resistance, bigger 6GB RAM, and probably better dual selfie cameras.
