Smart, TNT, and Sun will extend validity of prepaid load to one year

Good news! In compliance with the Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 05-12-2017 issued jointly by the NTC, DICT, and DTI, Smart, TNT and Sun will extend prepaid load validity to one year!

In particular, all Smart, TNT and Sun prepaid loads worth PHP 300 and above will have one-year of validity regardless of the printed validity period printed on the prepaid cards that's already out in the market.

According to a joint statement from Smart, TNT and Sun:

We are grateful to the three agencies for the grant of a six-month extension period before the full implementation of the MC. This provides us more  time to implement the extensive reconfiguration of our IT and other support systems, and to conduct the needed tests, in order to ensure trouble-free implementation of the new expiry period.

In case you missed it, PTV news recently reported that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) has agreed to lengthen validity of prepaid load to one year.
