Meet Nubia M2 Lite

Some of these highlighted specs are the massive 64GB storage, 16MP selfie camera, and 3GB of RAM inside a metal build phone. The one true gripe is the Android 6.0 Marshmallow but can you complain with that PHP 5,899 price tag?

Let's check it out!

Inside, it has a USB wall charger, USB to micro USB charging cable, SIM ejector tool, Nubia Stickers and documentations. We are a little disappointed that it didn't have the standard earphones.

Build Quality / Design

In terms of build, the M2 lite is ahead of the competition because it is made of metal and glass. The back is made of metal with the front being glass.

Sturdy metal build!

There are gold accents on the sides of the phone that add to the premium look and uniqueness of the product. The front is covered by 2.5D glass that adds that extra layer of premium look to it.

Ergonomically, most of the ports, buttons, and parts of the phone are found on strategic and familiar placements.

The upper and lower bezels are thicker than our liking, but it is still considered as decent for the price.

The handset feels very good to hold though. Being made of metal, it feels sturdy without being heavy for its size. This phone is petite and easy to hold in today's standards. The textured back adds that extra grippiness which helps with holding the phone with one hand.

Initial findings

Metal, and glass build materials
Metal, and glass build materials

1. Design and build is beyond what most phones at this price. We like that it is made of metal and 2.5D glass. It has 5.5-inch HD 1280 x 720 resolution w/ 2.5D curved glass at 267 ppi.
2. It has one of the better specs for theprice. 1.5GHz 64-bit MT6750 octa-core processor and the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU is considered as fast for thhis price! It is paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. Lastly it has 3,000mAh of battery capacity. We discovered that it has fast charging support too.
3. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is our only complaint with the phone. We hope it gets updated with Nougat as soon as possible.
4. At the back, it has a single camera setup. In particular, it is a 13MP f/2.2 w/ AF and LED flash and dual tone LED flash for the rear camera while the front is a 16MP f/2.0 w/ softlight LED flash. The daylight and low light shots that we initially took are very good! The grain in low light is more apparent though but the images remained sharp. We will have to take more tests.
5. Fingerprint scanner is fast enough. We rarely had an instance where it misread our fingerprint. It has OTG too. The red ring on the home button is the LED light indicator.

As of the moment

The Nubia M2 Lite is very impressive smartphone on paper for the price so far. We just wish it gets Nougat (or even Oreo) as soon as possible.

Otherwise, this is a very promising phone for the price!
