Vivo says that the APEX will have a 98% screen-to-body ratio

The APEX is said to have 1.8 mm bezels on the top and sides of the device while the bottom will have 4.3 mm. It will have a screen size of 5.99 inches. Vivo is touting it for having, possibly, the highest screen-to-body ratio ever. They said that if they are able to reduce the bottom bezels to 1.8 mm as well then they can achieve more or less a 98% screen to body ratio.

Apple, ASUS, and Huawei please take note!

They also said that the notch will not appear on the APEX which is slowly becoming a trend on 2018 flagships. They made the comparison that both the iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S8 did not reach even a 90% screen-to-body ratio. That is why they are saying the APEX, if able to achieve it, will be the first to have that high of a screen-to-body ratio.

They are also saying that they want to change the way the selfie camera is placed. They want to have an 8MP Elevating Front Camera that is hidden when not in use. Vivo says that it only takes 0.8 seconds to have the camera pop out for a selfie.

Vivo is also showcasing the first half-screen In-Display fingerprint scanner. With this technology, they said that the use can use any part of the bottom half of the display to unlock the phone.

They are also introducing the screen SoundCasting technology that transforms the APEX's entire display into a speaker. They said that this technology will "conserve power, reduce sound leakage and balance the audio experience".
