DxOMark, the "reference" for image quality, recently proclaimed the P20 Pro and P20 of Huawei as the King and Queen respectively of the mobile photography world. Now, let's see who else made it inside the top 10 of DxoMark's mobile list!

10. Apple iPhone 8 - The Apple iPhone 8 is one of the top scorers with the total score of 92 points last year. It has a capable 12MP f/1.8 w/ OIS, laser AF, PDAF, and LED flash.

9. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 - The Galaxy Note 8 is a bit better than the iPhone 8 Plus with a total score of 94 points for photos and videos. It has a 12MP f/1.7 RGB + 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens w/ Dual Pixel, Dual OIS, multi-frame, and dual tone LED flash.

8. Apple iPhone 8 Plus - The iPhone 8 Plus is tied with the Galaxy Note 8 with the total score of 94 points. It also has a dual camera setup of 12MP f/1.8 wide-angle + f/2.8 w/ 2x optical zoom, OIS, and LED flash.

7. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S - Xiaomi's Mi MIX 2S is one of the newest in the list with an impressive total score of 97 points. It has a dual 12MP camera with f/1.8 aperture size, Dual Pixel, OIS, 2x optical zoom, and dyanmic bokeh effect.

6. Huawei Mate 10 Pro - Next is the Mate 10 Pro, my current daily driver. It scored a total of 97 points like the Mi MIX 2S and the iPhone X. It has a 20MP f/1.6 monochrome sensor + 12 MP f/1.6 RGB sensor w/ 4-in-1 Hybrid AF, OIS, 2x zoom, and dual tone LED flash.

5. Apple iPhone X - Tied with the Mate 10 Pro and Mi MIX 2S, the iPhone X also got a score of 97 points. It has a 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.4 w/ 2x optical zoom, OIS, laser AF, PDAF, and quad LED flash.

4. Google Pixel 2 - Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on the other hand is the previous king of DxOMark with a total score of 98 points. Interestingly, the Pixel 2 scored this high despite having a "small" 12.2 MP f/1.8, 1.4 μm sensor w/ Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS, EIS, and dual tone LED flash.

3. Samsung Galaxy S9+ - The Galaxy S9 with an innovative variable aperture camera setup defeated the Pixel 2 with a total score of 99 points. It has a 12MP (f/1.5 / f/2.4) + 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto lens w/ Dual Pixel, Dual OIS, multi-frame, and dual tone LED flash.

2. Huawei P20 - The regular Huawei P20 with dual Leica lenses scored much higher than everyone else in the top 9 list with a total score of 103 points. It has a 20MP f/1.6 monochrome and 12MP f/1.8 RGB with 1/2.3-inch size.

1. Huawei P20 ProThe Huawei P20 Pro is the new king of DxOMark with a record breaking score of 107 total points! According to DxOMark, the camera quality of the P20 Pro is few generations ahead of the competition. It has a triple camera setup that consist of 40MP f/1.8 RGB + 20MP f/1.6 monochrome sensor + 8MP f/2.4 OIS telephoto sensor w/ 4D predictive focus, AIS, 5x zoom, 4K video recording, 960 fps slow motion, and dual tone LED flash.

Both Apple and Huawei dominated the top 10 list with 3 phones each inside DxOMark's top 10 list. But, Huawei has the stronger impact since its lowest ranked phone is just as good as Apple's highest ranked phone.

Next is Samsung with two phones, Xiaomi with 1 phone, and Google with 1 phone in the list.
